Culture Creates Connection
THREE DAYS
ONE GLOBAL AFRICAN EXPERIENCE
CULTURE • TOURISM • TRADE
Where heritage meets innovation
ASTAF connects Ghana’s artists, creatives, businesses and cultural institutions with the Netherlands, the African diaspora and the wider European community.
A platform for connection
ASTAF introduces European audiences to the Ghana of today: rooted in history, confident in its culture and open to new partnerships. Visitors will encounter Ghanaian visual art, music, instruments, fashion, film, products and indigenous traditions in one international programme.
The festival also has a practical economic purpose. It will help Ghanaian creators and businesses meet European buyers, galleries, distributors, investors, tourism operators and cultural institutions. The goal is to turn attention into travel, trade, commissions, business relationships and investment in Ghana.
ASTAF is inspired by the Black Star Experience and the continuing national journey of Beyond the Return. It extends the invitation to Europeans who want a deeper relationship with Ghana, whether through travel, cultural learning, business, creative collaboration or investment.

Investment and Opportunity
Ghana’s creative economy needs more than applause. Artists, designers, filmmakers, musicians, cultural venues, festivals
and tourism businesses need finance, distribution, production facilities, technology, professional services and access to international markets.
ASTAF will create a structured setting for project owners and investors to meet. Priority areas may include creative production, cultural infrastructure, destination
development, hospitality, film and music facilities, digital distribution, fashion manufacturing, heritage conservation and tourism experiences.
Investment participation will be subject to project screening, due diligence and applicable Ghanaian and European laws. ASTAF does not guarantee funding or commercial returns.
A shared opportunity
For Ghana, ASTAF can open European market access, strengthen tourism demand, improve international visibility for creative businesses and attract investment into projects based in Ghana.
For the Netherlands, the festival creates access to Ghanaian culture, new audiences, business opportunities and partnerships with one of West Africa’s best-known cultural and tourism destinations. Dutch institutions and companies can meet creators and entrepreneurs directly rather than engaging with Ghana only through distant representation.
The strongest result will be a two-way relationship: Ghanaian ideas and products gain access to Europe, while European knowledge, finance and market connections support sustainable growth in Ghana.
